TrustArc now offering APEC PRP certification which is especially relevant for companies who are focused on the SaaS market in Asia regions.
Moving personal data across borders became a daily routine for millions of companies worldwide as the digital commerce became a reality to big and small business alike. Comply the new legislation and standards of handling personal data, not so much. But to remedy that, TrustArc is now offering the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Processors Certification (APEC PRP).
TrustArc, a leading data privacy management company, is the first US company to offer APEC PRP certification. Being the APEC PRP a program that guarantees that companies ensure the continued free flow of personal information across APEC member economy borders while establishing meaningful protection for the privacy and security of personal information. It is the first framework approved for the transfer of personal data between all APEC Member countries.

The certification is available now, is important to note that is relevant for companies who offer cloud or SaaS platform or other tech solutions for customers in Asia and across regions. The certification runs through three stages:
- Remediation / Validation
- Assistance with any necessary remediation steps.
- Validation of privacy statements to update privacy practices consistent with applicable standards.

As proof of TRUSTe Certification, an official Letter of Attestation can be shared with your business partners.
TRUSTe APEC Seal
After completing the required changes, we authorize your use of the TRUSTe APEC certification seal.
The certification also includes:

- Ongoing monitoring and guidance
- Dispute resolution
- Searchable Audit Trail
- TRUSTe Privacy Feedback button
APEC currently groups 21 countries of the Pacific and Asian region who promote the free trade. The 21 APEC members represent over 40% of the world’s population and over 60% of global GDP. Some of the companies that already are certified by APEC PRP are: Apple Inc., Cisco System, Electronic Arts, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, HP Inc., IBM, PGA Tour and the World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.
