Narrative Science Launches Narratives for Tableau

Clients of Narrative Science and Tableau can leverage the integration of both platforms to translate data and statistics into stories and knowledge.

Natural Language Generation (NLG) leader Narrative Science has joined data visualization and intelligence pioneer, Tableau, to launch a new extension that is built with the recently released Tableau Extension API and powered by Narrative Science to bring English explanations of charts and graphs to its clients.

“This is the next logical milestone for our relationship with Narrative Science and ultimately, bringing value to our customers,” said Francois Ajenstat, Tableau’s Chief Product Officer. “In simplifying the ability for Tableau users to glean insights from their data, they are freed up to spend more time on analysis and less on administrative tasks.”

With more than 50,000 clients and customers including Lufthansa, JP Morgan Chase, Honeywell, and Lenovo, Tableau now can offer the Narrative Science’s power to offer useful data analysis.

Narrative Science has been working with its own clients with Tableau tools. Deloitte’s Catalyst is, “an ecosystem network of leading startups working to translate the potential of disruptive technologies into practical business solutions for the firm and its clients.”

“Deloitte Catalyst has been working with startups since 2014 to translate the potential of disruptive technologies, such as NLG,” said Craig Muraskin, Managing Director of U.S. Innovation at Deloitte, in the official announcement of the new Narrative Science tool for Tableau. “We are pleased to be able to collaborate with startups to develop technologies and tools, such as Narratives for Tableau, that allow our professionals to focus their talents on higher-level, critical work.”
