Global leader in virtual communication and immersive multi-user experiences, vTime announced its expansion into North America with the appointment of notable industry expert Brian Blau as the company’s new Senior Vice President.
vTime’s new US office will be located in San Francisco, California and will be led by Blau, who will be charged with developing strategic partnerships and expansion opportunities, as well as managing and building out the US-based team.
Prior to joining vTime, Blau held several senior positions at companies such as Autodesk, Silicon Graphics and Double Fusion, and was most recently a Gartner analyst, serving as lead for Apple and other augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies. One of the most quoted technology analysts for the past eight years, Blau provided key insights on personal technologies for consumers, and on business to C-Level executives and brands globally.
Earlier this year, vTime closed its Series A fundraising round, raising $7.6 million to accelerate global growth and product development and to fuel research and development for the brand’s AR experience, coming early in 2019.
vTime Managing Director Clemens Wangerin said: “Brian’s unique insights and background will give us an edge, accelerating our transformation of the way people communicate and engage with each other through vTime’s consumer products and enabling technologies.”
vTime Senior Vice President Brian Blau said: “I’m beyond excited to join vTime and help lead the company into its next phase as we establish a presence on the US west coast. The talented team and technology behind vTime are well positioned for success, and with them, I’m looking forward to bringing sociable immersive experiences to the market.”
In a press statement, the company says its US office will be “pivotal in realizing the company’s ambitions to be the leading immersive technology engagement platform for consumers and businesses.”
