Tesla Executive Matthew Schwall Heads to Waymo

Waymo, the self-driving unit of Alphabet, Inc. has announced a new member is joining its executive team. Matthew Schwall, from Tesla, will be joining Waymo. Schwall was the primary technical contact at the electric car maker. He used to coordinate with U.S safety investigators.

Waymo confirmed the announcement that Schwall would be joining Waymo’s safety team. The team is guided by Ron Medford, a former National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Deputy Administrator.

Schwall has already started working on a variety of safety issues related to the self-driving car.

Before Schwall’s move from Tesla, there has been an instance of security-related mishaps. The NTSB has confirmed that it will investigate an accident of a Tesla self-driven car, which injured a teenager and killed two.

The electric car-maker has not been available to comment on this.
