Amidst blames and claims toward Tesla’s Model 3, CEO Elon Musk has made a statement admitting that robots may not be everything we need and that humans may be the answer to some of their problems. The Model 3’s production has missed key deadlines due to challenges in the manufacturing process.
Commenting on Twitter, Musk said, “Yes, excessive automation at Tesla was a mistake. To be precise, my mistake. Humans are underrated.” He added, speaking to CBS, “We got complacent about some of the things that we felt were our core technology. We put too much new technology into the Model 3 all at once. This should have been staged.”
The future of the electric car manufacturer is tied with Model 3, as the company has claimed it will be the electric car that is economically viable and available to middle-class customers.
In the recent past, the company also had to recall around 123,000 of its older Model S vehicles that are equipped with semi-autonomous driving mechanisms. Currently, the Model 3 is the top priority of the company, and Musk wants to ensure that the vehicle is released, so he has taken to sleeping in the factory to help in the manufacturing process.
