At a time when the electric car-maker is on a rush to meet its deadlines, Tesla’s senior vice president of engineering has decided to take a leave of absence from the company. Doug Field has announced that he is taking the leave of absence, but Tesla has reassured that Field is just taking a short break and not leaving the company.
Speaking on this recent news, a spokesperson of Tesla said, “Doug is just taking some time off to recharge and spend time with his family. He has not left Tesla.”
In a recent “proxy” statement by the company, Fields was one of the key members of the executive team, along with company’s CFO, CTO, and CEO Elon Musk. An analyst, Jim Chanos, from Kynikos Associates, has stated, “The number one sign of impending problems is mass executive departures. This is becoming a torrent at Tesla.”
This brings good news for short sellers, who have been continually vouching against Tesla. However, Musk has been very vocal in his reviews against those who are against his company, jumping over the line and calling them “jerks” and criticizing how these people are “hurting” his company.
