Digital Trends Appoints New Chief Revenue Officer

Gruters will play an important role in boosting the experience of advertising partners and pushing business development initiatives for Digital Trends.

Digital Trends has recently announced that Bob Gruters, now a Facebook executive will be joining them as their new Chief Revenue Officer. In his previous assignments before Facebook, Gruters has worked with some of the leading names in the media industry such as Viacom, Conde Nast, Univision and REVOLT Media, during his career that spanned more than 25 years.

The decision of Gruters to leave Facebook and join Digital Trends is evidence to the growth that Digital Trends has and the position it holds in the market. Inc Magazine had recently ranked Digital Trends as the country’s fastest –growing private organizations, on their Inc.5000 list, consecutively for the third year. Since 2014, the digital media company has grown by over 200 percent to a viewer base of 30 million unique visitors.

 

Gruters said, “I couldn’t be more excited to join the smart, innovative, and nimble team at DT as they continue to ramp and scale this business. I’ve been overseeing the industry’s top publishers for the last 4 years as one of Facebook’s Entertainment focus areas, and I’ve been so impressed by DT and all they’ve done already.” Essentially for Gruters, this move to Digital Trends brings him back to publishing and media industry.

Speaking on this occasion, Ian Bell, Co-Founder and CEO of Digital Trends said, “We’re thrilled to welcome Bob to our team. Bob will play an important role in enhancing the experience of our advertising partners and spearheading business development initiatives as we continue to break barriers in our industry.”

Other members who are joining the top management at Digital Trends this include Chris Carlson as Chief Operating Officer, Lynda Mann as Senior Director of Commerce (Lynda was former Business Development Director at The New York Times) and Ray Philip as Director of SEO.
