The Why What Who and How of Great HR Functions

Digital transformation and adoption of a variety of new technologies and processes are causing many company executives and employees to witness a shift.

To stay relevant and add value in this age of automation, human resource functions must transform and align its processes with digitization.

Here are the main reasons old processes are beginning to turn obsolete:

  1. Demographic change
Today’s workforce is increasingly diverse as there are now four generations of people working simultaneously. As a result, HR executives must develop policies that are flexible and can be easily adapted and applied to all of these generations.
  2. Fast-changing business models
As technology enhances and demand increases, it becomes more important for employees to have the capabilities of collaborating effectively. For an HR executive, it is the number one priority to create teams that can function well.
  3. Transparent technology
The BYOD protocol has made way for so many transparent technological processes that employees now expect systems to be seamless and easy to use.

Ensuring appropriate changes align with the needs of today’s digitization allows employees to perform to the best of their abilities and provides HR teams with relevant insights, segments talent, syndicates and distributes content, monitors communication effectiveness, and makes improvements that can help shape a successful organization.

To initiate this change, here are a few questions you should ask:
Why?

It is essential that HR executives understand clearly the external realities and the internal consequences of those realities as this creates the framework for new structures, processes, and policies the company would adopt.

What?

HR executives must gauge the outcomes of the transformation, specifically how much value does it add to the company.

How?

If the process of transformation seems profitable, it’s time for HR executives to figure out how they would bring about such transformation.

Who?

Once the processes to transform have been decided, you must decide which HR professionals must embrace the change.

As technology keeps advancing, it becomes important for employees to also advance at that same pace to advance momentum and sustain results.
