South African Youtube phenomenon Caspar Lee has agreed to invest in Influencer, a startup marketing agency. He was also recently announced as the company’s new chief innovation officer.
The company describes its platform as a “data-driven platform that takes briefs from brands and matches them with relevant content creators from its roster of more than 1,000 influencers in categories like fashion, technology, food, and more.”
Lee is currently signed to WME and has more than 9 million subscribers across two channels on Youtube, with the addition of millions of followers on both Instagram and Twitter. As chief innovation officer, Lee will be responsible for leading the business direction for brands that work with Influencer including Uber and Badoo.
Founder Ben Jeffries praised Lee, “As someone who is extremely respected within the social media space, Caspar’s involvement and investment is a huge step in our plans to become the largest influencer marketing company in the world.”
Lee stated, “I’m very excited to join and invest in such a young team [the average age of employees at the company is 22] with huge potential. Digital marketing continues to snowball, and it’s time to take our platform to the next level.”
According to GazetteReview, Lee’s net worth is estimated to be around $800,000, which is pretty remarkable for a 23-year-old who created his Youtube channel in 2011. His resume includes roles in Laid In America, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, and Spud 3: Learning To Fly. Lee also landed in his own reality show, Joe and Caspar Hit the Road, with fellow Youtube vlogger Joe Sugg.
