Conagra Brands, Inc., has announced that consumer packaged goods marketing veteran, DeLu Jackson, has joined the company as the vice president of precision marketing, a newly created role reporting to Darren Serrao, chief growth officer. The news comes as a bit of a surprise as Jackson had only taken his previous position at Kellogg’s approximately seven months ago.
Darren Serrao, executive vice president and chief growth officer of Conagra Brands, said of Jackson: “DeLu has achieved incredible results as an integrated marketing leader and he will play a vital role in transforming our marketing function so that our brands are reaching consumers in the ways their connectivity and lifestyles dictate. As we focus on growing our brands and business, DeLu will help accelerate our progress by partnering with our teams involved with insights, innovation and marketing strategies to create breakthrough programs.”
DeLu Jackson has over 20 years of marketing experience with well-known consumer brands. He was most recently vice president of digital acceleration for the Kellogg Company and previously served as corporate vice president of global marketing at McDonald’s where he led marketing, social media, and customer engagement. Jackson also served in leadership roles in marketing for Nissan, Audi, Subaru, and Ford. His marketing experience spans all facets of integrated marketing, including print media, social media, digital activation, ecommerce, and content production.
This news comes as Conagra completes its move to Chicago from Omaha, and arrives several months after the company brought its advertising business along, consolidating work on many of its biggest brands with DDB Chicago in the process.
For now, it is unclear as to how this hiring decision may affect things for either company. The industry will be watching to see what ‘precision marketing’ means for Conagra.
