Macaitis, who previously served as Chief Marketing Officer at Slack Technologies Inc., will work as a strategic marketing advisor. He will be responsible for assisting product marketing efforts as Catalant’s platform continues to offer new functionality to customers.
According to a company press release, Macaitis’ addition to the marketing leadership team builds on the momentum of Catalant’s recent Series D funding announcement of $41 million in new financing from its existing investors which include Highland Capital Partners and General Catalyst. It also builds on Catalant’s talent strategy of adding seasoned executives such as Kylie Wright-Ford, who joined the company as an advisor in January of this year, overseeing public relations and event campaigns. Prior to joining Catalant, Wright-Ford served as co-head of global operations at GLG and chief operating and strategy officer at World 50 Inc.
“We continue to see leading companies like GE fundamentally rethink their approach to talent,” Catalant co-CEO and co-founder Rob Biederman said regarding the additions of Macaitis and Wright-Ford. “We realize, though, that we are leading a broad transformation wave in reimagining work. We are thrilled to have seasoned executives like Kylie and Bill joining us to help communicate to enterprises why this approach is becoming a strategic imperative.”
Macaitis has over 20 years of experience in go-to-market leadership roles and has achieved multiple exits through both IPO and acquisitions. He first crafted his skills on the business-to-consumer (B2C) side building a 175M audience at IGN & Fox websites, and then switched to business-to-business (B2B) where he powered growth for 3 of the 5 fastest ever growing SaaS companies. At Slack, he served as CMO and built the company’s marketing, sales, success, and support teams; at Zendesk, he also served as CMO and took the company through a successful $1.7B IPO; and at Salesforce, he served as SVP of Marketing and helped scale revenues from $1B to $3B.
