When the largest content marketing event in the world (#CMWorld 2017) returns to Cleveland in September, best-selling author and Pulitzer Prize winner, Colson Whitehead, will be there to deliver a keynote address. Content Marketing Institute, a UBM company, made the announcement today.
Whitehead is best known for his most recent novel, The Underground Railroad. The novel, which was published last year by Doubleday, was chosen by Oprah Winfrey for Oprah’s Book Club. It went on to become a New York Times bestseller and won a National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize. Whitehead’s other works include six novels, The Noble Hustle, Zone One, Sag Harbor, The Intuitionist, John Henry Days, Apex Hides the Hurt, and one collection of essays, The Colossus of New York.
Whitehead’s writings have appeared in numerous publications, including the New York Times, The New Yorker, New York Magazine, Harper’s, and Granta. He has received a MacArthur Fellowship, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Whiting Writers Award, the Dos Passos Prize, a fellowship at the Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers, and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for John Henry Days.
Stephanie Stahl, general manager of the Content Marketing Institute, stated she was thrilled to have Whitehead speak at the conference. “Our Content Marketing World community is built on building relationships, using our creativity to connect with our audience, and finding our tilt or niche,” Stahl said. “Whitehead’s latest novel achieves all of this, and I’m thrilled he will share his journey with our CMWorld attendees.”
Content Marketing World 2017 will take place at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland, Ohio, from September 5 to September 8. It will include more than 120 sessions and workshops, and more than 200 speakers, many of whom are some of the leading brand marketers from around the world. Whitehead will deliver his keynote address to an expected 4,000 Content Marketing World attendees on Thursday morning, September 7, 2017.
