Sirius has announced a new app for Apple TV, which means users will now be able to access Sirius XM content from their living room on their Apple TV. SiriusXM app will be available for 4th generation Apple TV and Apple TV 4K.
Subscribers, who have streaming access, will be able to use the SiriusXM app to access over 200 channels, which can be customized with MySXM. Users will be able to access the archived programming on demand and the app’s user interface has also been optimized for Apple TV.
The SiriusXM app is already available on LG, Roku, Samsung, and Sony smart TVs, as well as Amazon Fire TV and Sony Playstation. Recently, Apple TV users gained access to the Amazon Prime Video app, where there are loads of commercial-free music channels and tons of talk channels available for users.
The company stated: “With SiriusXM on Apple TV, SiriusXM All Access and streaming subscribers can access exclusive music and entertainment, including Howard Stern’s two exclusive channels, commercial-free music from multiple genres, an extensive schedule of live games and events from professional and college sports, plus news from respected national outlets, exclusive talk and entertainment, a broad range of comedy, and sports talk from some of the biggest names in broadcasting; as well as dozens of exclusive online-only channels that span music, talk, comedy and news.”
They have given support to customize your favorite artists, stations and comedy acts. Your preferences will sync to your Sirius account, so you can continue from where you left off in iOS or CarPlay.
To launch SiriusXM on your Apple TV, just go to the App store and search for SiriusXM. Click on “Get” to install, and then sign in with your SiriusXM username and password. The service will cost you just $30 dollars for six months, which comes to $11 less than the usual $15.99 per month rate.
