SAS Joins Industrial Internet Consortium

Analytics leader SAS has joined the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC), the main association transforming business and society by quickening the appropriation of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). SAS enables industrial giants to apply advanced analytics where information is on the edge, in the fog, and inside the data center/cloud. Edge-to-enterprise analytics diminishes expenses and increases income by giving exact, continuous knowledge. SAS intends to work with individual IIC individuals by offering its analytics ability to enable associations to understand the estimation of IIoT.

“SAS brings years of experience in industrial data analytics,” Dr. Richard Mark Soley, Executive Director of the IIC, said. “IoT data has an expiration date – if you don’t act on it quickly, it loses value. If data can be analyzed as fast as it streams, an enterprise can react to insights revealed by the analysis in a meaningful timeframe.”

Bill Roberts, Global Director of SAS’ IoT Practice, had this to say: “Unanalyzed data is an opportunity missed – especially in the case of the data streaming from the world’s billions of connected devices. The promise of IIoT is limitless, and organizations like the IIC are essential for forming beneficial alliances, exploring new opportunities to harness data, and learning new strategies for applying analyzed IIoT data to business decisions.”

SAS is the pioneer in analytics. Through innovative analytics, business insight, and information management programming and administrations, SAS enables clients at more than 83,000 locations to settle on better choices faster than the rest. Since 1976, SAS has been giving clients around the globe “the power to know.”
