The Future of Artificial Intelligence

The Future of Artificial Intelligence
Share:

Artificial intelligence will eventually control very different parts of our day-to-day lives.

During the 1990s, almost no one ever thought that machines could do the tasks that they do today or have the potential that they have. Enter the present day, and we are loaded with technologies, gizmos and gadgets that easily fit in our hand. They are business stations all to themselves which can help us do tons of work in a matter of seconds. Artificial Intelligence has lately picked up the ante, and there are organizations and individual researchers who are contributing tremendously to the field of AI and machine learning.

If one looks at a layman’s definition of Artificial Intelligence, it is described as a deep learning methodology that enables machines to process a bundle of information at a highly sophisticated level. This level of knowledge and information processing has enabled machines to do tasks like face recognition. However, these tasks are on a very basic level.

When one looks at the future of AI, one is talking about highly complex tasks that human beings are typically doing. Let’s look at a few benefits:

Transportation
With the advent of self-driving cars, the transportation industry has seen great innovation with companies using the concept of artificial intelligence. Companies like Google have been active contributors in this space.

Hazardous Jobs
There are many jobs that are hazardous to human beings, and we are seeing the implementation of artificial intelligence in this space as well. The future of AI sees robots executing these jobs including bomb defusing and manufacturing of toxic chemicals.

Climate Control
Scientists have started using drone technology for monitoring climatic conditions, and with the help of machine learning and artificial intelligence, they can take preventive measures to avoid catastrophic disasters.

Foster Care Using Robots
Robots can even play a pivotal role in helping caregivers take care of the elderly. Robots can be used as companions that take care of a person’s daily routine including bathing, washing, food preparation, and ensuring medication is taken on time. AI holds a key in the creation of robotic nannies.

These are just a few scenarios where we can see an active role of artificial intelligence in the future. However, what sounds so simple does not hold any strong grounds because we are not yet clear about the future of AI. It is evident that AI will play a very important role in our day-to-day lives. This revolution will help society to evolve and adapt, particularly when it comes to transportation, climate control, friendships, and even cyborg technologies. The future of AI holds strong potential for businesses that can incorporate it into their day-to-day operations.

Businesses can leverage artificial intelligence to provide a better experience to their customers. AI can help bridge the gap between customer expectations and value proposition, particularly in the retail industry, where customers are always on their toes to switch from one company to the other.

The bottom line is that AI is hard-coded into our lives, and the technology around AI has been changing and will continue to change in times to come. Peter Stone, a computer scientist from the University of Texas, Austin, states, “I don’t think there’s a single change that is going to be black and white once we’re on one side and now there’s a change and we’re on the other side. It’s a cumulative effect of everything.”
