Oracle has recently announced a new set of cloud programs that will help enterprises achieve tremendous cost benefit and help them get more from their investments in software.
Chief technology officer Larry Ellison announced that these new programs will have Bring Your Own License to PaaS and Universal Credits.
Ellison further added that Oracle is completely transforming the business model and creating a serious impact on the way companies procure and deploy cloud. Its key USP will be flexibility and choice. Oracle boasts of having a perfect combination of low cost and exceptional performance with higher automation levels to deliver significant cost advantage to them.
Moreover, there are still few organizations who have not adopted cloud technology, even though they have shown an eagerness to move to cloud platform. They have been marred by operational challenges and their inability balance out their expenditure.
Moreover, organizations still don’t have clarity on how to use cloud services and more importantly, how to control the spend. Companies have not been able to leverage their private cloud instances. They are under the perception that this is something similar to IaaS service. However, the new cloud platform by Oracle is a complete customer-centric solution that addresses the challenges that customers face, right from adoption of cloud platform to simplifying the experience of installing and using.
According to Oracle, customers are currently able to bring their on-premises software to IaaS platform. A key component here is that Oracle provides the flexibility to customers to reuse their existing on-premises licenses for Oracle PaaS, which includes database, analytics, middleware and so on. Furthermore, customers can leverage the PaaS automation from Oracle to bring out further reduction in management and operational costs.
