Austin, TX-based job site, Indeed.com, has announced the acquisition of San Francisco human resources tech company, Interviewed. “All of Interviewed’s employees, including co-founders Daniel O’Shea and Chris Bakke, will become Indeed employees as part of the acquisition,” a news release stated.
Chris Hyams, president of Indeed, had this to say: “Indeed’s mission is to help people get jobs, and today we make it easy for millions of job seekers to find and apply to jobs all over the world. Interviewed’s technology is a natural extension, allowing job seekers to demonstrate their skills, and enabling employers to quickly and easily identify the best candidates for their roles. We are excited to have the Interviewed team join us to help make hiring more efficient for the millions of employers hiring on Indeed.”
Interviewed started in 2014, and has since created a series of online skills-based tests as well as personality assessments, language skills, and more designed to test job candidates for specific jobs. The program allows prospective employers get to see applicants in action through simulations, allowing them to choose new employees based off simulated performance, and thus take much of the guesswork and gambling out of the hiring process.
Interviewed is considered an industry leader in job assessment tools. It was founded in 2014 by Darren Nix, and the company had previously accrued $2 million. Its customers include IBM, Clara Labs, Zillow, Thumbtack, making it a big get for Indeed, the number one job site in the world.
Darren Nix, CEO of Interviewed, said in a news release, “We are thrilled that Indeed, the leader in online hiring, will be integrating our platform with their extensive service offerings that work to bring the right candidate to the right opportunity. Indeed’s relentless commitment to helping people find jobs makes it a great home for Interviewed’s tools that strive to cut hiring time in half and create a better experience for both job seekers and hiring managers.”
The purchase was made for an undisclosed sum.
