IBM’s Chief Data Officer, Dr. Inderpal Bhandari, was named CDO of the Year by the CDO Club. CDO Club is the largest community in the world that comprises of C-level digital leaders with over 5000 registered members.
Bhandari delivered a keynote session on “Enabling a Cognitive Business” at the CDO summit held in Washington, D.C.
Bhandari is considered an evangelist in the field of data transformation and creating business value, by delivering exceptional customer experience. He is recognized as an expert in delivering strategic leadership and innovation resulting in growth and productivity for organizations. Bhandari joined IBM in 2015 and took over data strategy for the company and other similar organizations.
He has been driving a cognitive approach for data management and data transformation to large data storage of both unstructured and structured data. He is working on a project which will allow businesses to implement Artificial Intelligence in their business processes. Dr. Bhandari is also working on a blueprint in this space and aims to deliver it by the end of the year.
Speaking on the occasion, David Mathison, CEO and founder of the CDO Club, said this was the first time club members were given the power to vote for the nominees for Chief Data Officer of the Year. The global community of CDO unanimously voted for Dr. Bhandari. This indicates the intellect, stature, and value that he brings to the field of Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and cognitive computing.
After receiving the award, Bhandari said it is always an amazing experience and a great honor to be recognized by his peers.
Dr. Bhandari has over 20 years of experience and held many leadership positions including SVP and CDO at Cambia Health Solutions, VP of Solutions and CDO at Express Scripts, and founder, chairman, and CEO of Virtual Gold.
