Silicon Valley will see all the glitterati as it gears up for the Confluence Summit. The summit will see stalwarts from different industries and domains. Noted film director Sam Raimi (famous for his Spiderman Trilogy), Chief Creative Officer of Lucasfilm’s ILM John Knoll, and many such industry giants will be a part of this gathering, which will address innovation, storytelling and collaboration.
The highlight of this summit will be the award given to YouTube cofounder Steve Chen. The Confluence summit producer Winston Baker will be presenting the award for “Architect of Change” to Chen on the inaugural function of the summit, on October 27, 2017.
The confluence will be a gathering of award-winning content creators and leading technology developers, combined with innovation drivers, who will exchange ideas through storytelling. There will be discussions on democratization of content and distribution of content, visual effects, augmented and virtual reality games, and artificial intelligence.
In a statement, founders of Winston Baker Katherine Winston and Amy Baker said, “Steve was instrumental in building YouTube into the phenomenon that it is today. He developed the company’s massive data centers and helped build YouTube into a premier entertainment destination and one of the most popular websites on the Internet around the world. He also helped lead YouTube through the Google acquisition — and the rest is history.”
Other than Sam Raimi and John Knoll, the summit will also see keynote sessions from Patrick Lee, co-founder of Rotten Tomatoes, and Managing Director of Comcast Ventures Michael Yang. The summit will be hosted by renowned MSNBC anchor Richard Lui. It will be held in Rosewood Sand Hill Resort in Menlo Park, California. The summit is sponsored by Akin Gump, Fifth Third Bank, FTI Consulting, Armanino, Bluescape, and The Hollywood Reporter.
