Amazon recently launched a consulting program called Amazon ML Solutions Lab which will help customers develop machine-learning features and products. This program is expected to help cloud customers without extensive knowledge of machine learning with practical and beneficial uses for their business.
“We are excited to announce the Amazon ML Solutions Lab, a new program that connects machine learning experts from across Amazon with AWS customers to help identify novel uses of machine learning inside customers’ businesses, and guide them in developing new machine learning-enabled features, products, and processes,” Amazon said.
The program works with individual businesses and includes sending developers on site to help a business with hands on machine learning. The Amazon Solutions Lab program finds solutions by working backwards and then following the step by step process of developing solutions which are based on machine learning. It combines workshops, brainstorming sessions, and advisory professional services to help users work through their business problems. The length of the period can vary anywhere between 3 to 6 months depending on the needs of the customers.
The Amazon ML Solutions express service is offered to companies that have more experience in machine learning. The duration of this program is 4 weeks. The program starts with a week-long intensive bootcamp which is hosted on the Amazon site. According to Amazon, this program is focused on feature engineering and building models rapidly which is meant for businesses with high quality data and is already prepared for machine learning.
“Amazon has been investing in machine learning for more than 20 years, innovating in areas such as fulfillment and logistics, personalization and recommendations, forecasting, fraud prevention, and supply chain optimization. The Amazon ML Solutions Lab provides you access to the same talent that built many of Amazon’s machine learning-powered products and services,” Vinayak Agarwal, senior product manager for AWS Deep Learning, said in a blog post.
Although the cost of this program is not yet published on the website, the lab already has potential customers lined up including The Washington Post, the Toyota Research Institute, and Janssen.
The Amazon ML Solutions Lab Express is limited to the U.S., but the Amazon ML Solutions Lab is available globally.
