Compass, a real estate technology company, announced that Madan Nagaldinne has been appointed Chief People Officer and will assume his new role in September. Nagaldinne will become a member of the executive leadership team and oversee the company’s Human Resources strategy and operations including staff recruiting, compensation, benefits, performance management, and learning and development. Nagaldinne brings twenty years of human resources management to Compass, including prior roles at Facebook and Amazon. He will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Robert Reffkin and Chief Operating Officer Maëlle Gavet.
“The incredible caliber of talent across technology, real estate, marketing and business has always been a differentiator for Compass, and Madan will help us accelerate the pace at which we attract and hire the best people,” said Compass CEO Robert Reffkin. “Madan understands how to meet the challenge that comes with being a hyper-growth startup: preserving a culture focused on community and collaboration while also rapidly scaling the company toward our mission of helping everyone find their place in the world.”
This announcement seems to imply that the real estate company seeks to replicate the massive recruitment and expansion that Nagaldinne previously oversaw at some of the most powerful tech companies in the world. Due to his prior experience, one can safely assume that Nagaldinne has great plans for Compass in the future. Current employees, however, may wonder what Nagaldinne’s appointment means for their jobs going forward, as he will have control over just about everything to do with making sure that workers are fairly compensated and treated.
